Item 1: Current Financial Crisis
I'm amazed at the number of smart people I know who do not understand the cause of today's economic turmoil. These smart people listen to news and read, but as I watch them, their eyes glaze over when it comes to the important part of the story. So, I want to do a favor to those with ADD and put the cause in a nutshell. Here it is, simple.
<Begin statement> It started with Jimmy Carter, then intensified with Bill Clinton. These democrats passed laws to require banks to relax lending standards for mortgages. Irresponsible people who would otherwise never qualify for a home loan were given large loans. The major qualification for relaxation of the lending standards was race. (Hey, don't get mad with me; I'm not making this stuff up.) These high-risk mortgages were then bundled into "securities" and sold on the global market. People & banks who sold/purchased these high-risk securities are going broke because the people who own the morgages are defaulting. It impacts investments, like oil, because people are not moving money around. The entire problem is due to a dangerous and flawed philosophy that liberals love: everything should be "equal" irrespective of a person's abilities, motivation, or aptitude. Liberalism has screwed the financial markets. <End statement>
Now cut and paste that to all your friends.
Item II: My Car
As you may recall, I decided some time ago to buy a new car. I spoke of it a little on the blog. After deciding on the Cadillac SRX, the Good Mr. Shiningcity purchased the vehicle. Within a week, I drove to Snowmass for a business meeting. During one leisurely afternoon of fun consignment-store shopping in Aspen, I returned to my new vehicle to find this:
Yes, that says "Impeachment is patriotic. Bush lied. Many died."
Yep, some rabid liberal put this on my brand new car while I was shopping.
Which leads me to my second simple statement of today:
<Begin statement> Some liberals are crazy people. Some are so egocentric that they will vandalize the property of others in order to say their opinions. Sometimes they also pierce odd parts of their body and shove metal objects under their skin. DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF. If you want to say your opinion: Buy a T-Shirt or get a tattoo. But don't vandalize. It's tacky. <End statement>
